Our Little Squirrel

Well, it’s now been TWO weeks (crazy how fast it goes) that I’ve meant to do this post and announce the birth of our little squirrel…but who has time to do postings when all you want to do is cuddle with your ridiculously cute and sweet baby?!?!?  Anyways, so you’re probably wondering why we call her squirrel.  When we got our first ultra sound Coby said it looked like a squirrel and not a human…and from there it stuck and she’ll forever be our little squirrel.

Harper Reese Brown was born on April 18^th at 12:03pm.  She looked really big right when she first came out (but what baby doesn’t considering haha) and since the dr told me the day before she would be at least 8 lbs…I was expecting a big baby (and for more weight to be immediately removed from my body!!!).  Well….even though I was HUGE and so swollen with fluid…she was just 6lbs 10oz, 19.5 inches.  When we left the hospital she was just over 6lbs.  I should have bought some preemie clothes because even today her newborn clothes swallow her up….she’s SO precious though!!!! 

We had her 2 week appt yesterday and she is now 6lbs 9oz and 20 inches long.  She is such a good and even tempered baby and a GREAT sleeper!  Neither Coby nor I do well without sleep at night so we are TRULY blessed that she only wakes up 1 time during the night and goes back down easily.  It’s amazing how fast you fall into such an unconditional and pure love with your new little one!

Below are some pictures of our Baby Harper…isn’t she the cutest baby girl ever?  We think so too J.  Look at the picture below of Coby as a baby next to the one of her…could she look any more identical to her dad?  I love my husband and always have…but it’s amazing how much stronger the love grows every time I see him with our baby girl….he’s such an amazing dad already!!
