Dallas Meets Dumas

We went and had her 1 Year pictures taken in April but as you can see I'm really delayed in getting them posted. I was shocked at how well she did for them because it was right in the middle of nap time, she has such a short attention span, and we usually have a really hard time getting her to look directly at the camera and smile. The lady who did her pictures was GREAT and we were out of there in 10 minutes because Harper did so well so fast!

Fun first year facts:

TOTAL DADDY'S GIRL...she would trade her momma and anyone else in ANY moment for her papa!
Clearly understands the difference between males and females, she prefers the males...little flirt!
Top 20th % for height
Bottom 5th % for weight...no idea where this long and skinny baby came from!
On her 1 year birthday we finally got her in her first pair of 6 month old clothes...so much for buying all these cute clothes before she was born and sizing them according to seasons. 3/4 of her clothes never got touched and we had to re-purchase everything. If we have another one...I'll definitely be waiting this time!!
Started crawling at 4 months
Started walking at 9 months (I was hoping for 18 months but what can you do haha)
Sassiest, funniest baby ever! It's crazy how much personality is in this tiny little being! We sure love her!!!

Well, it’s now been TWO weeks (crazy how fast it goes) that I’ve meant to do this post and announce the birth of our little squirrel…but who has time to do postings when all you want to do is cuddle with your ridiculously cute and sweet baby?!?!? Anyways, so you’re probably wondering why we call her squirrel. When we got our first ultra sound Coby said it looked like a squirrel and not a human…and from there it stuck and she’ll forever be our little squirrel.

Harper Reese Brown was born on April 18^th at 12:03pm. She looked really big right when she first came out (but what baby doesn’t considering haha) and since the dr told me the day before she would be at least 8 lbs…I was expecting a big baby (and for more weight to be immediately removed from my body!!!). Well….even though I was HUGE and so swollen with fluid…she was just 6lbs 10oz, 19.5 inches. When we left the hospital she was just over 6lbs. I should have bought some preemie clothes because even today her newborn clothes swallow her up….she’s SO precious though!!!!

We had her 2 week appt yesterday and she is now 6lbs 9oz and 20 inches long. She is such a good and even tempered baby and a GREAT sleeper! Neither Coby nor I do well without sleep at night so we are TRULY blessed that she only wakes up 1 time during the night and goes back down easily. It’s amazing how fast you fall into such an unconditional and pure love with your new little one!

Look at the picture below of Coby as a baby next to the one of her…could she look any more identical to her dad? I love my husband and always have…but it’s amazing how much stronger the love grows every time I see him with our baby girl….he’s such an amazing dad already!!
